| Sandi Anderson & The Mustang Mavericks Mustang Mavericks Website | The Mustang Mavericks Drill Team was formed in early 2004 with just 4 dedicated riders, and in the short time that they have been together, the team has grown to 12 very dedicated riders who want to get the word out about how awesome their mustangs are. They have been promoting the mustangs in Southern California and Nevada by doing drill performances, parades, trail trials, obstacle courses, trail rides, camping trips, cancer walk and fund raisers, horse shows and expos, along with, attending mustang adoptions with their horses to show prospective adopters just how beautiful they are and how versatile they can be. These horses have come a long way in a short time, and their willingness to do whatever is asked of them is amazing. Many of these horses have gone through the Warm Springs Training Program and others have been trained by their owners, a few have been purchased trained from other owners. All of them, horses and riders, are doing a great job. They are looking forward to performing for you this year at the Western States Wild Horse and Burrow Expo in Reno, Nevada! | ||

Longtime participants at Expo, Lauman-trained horses excel for both expert and casual riders, including children | ||
| Lesley Neuman Lesley Neuman's Website | Lesley Neuman is best known for her work with wild horses. She has been a popular clinician at BLM wild horses adoptions for almost a decade and a clinician at the Western States Wild Horse & Burro Expo since it's inception. She has a rare ability to read, communicate with, and gentle wild or unhandled horses, while at the same time, explaining to her human audience what she is doing and what the horse is doing. Lesley is modest, down-to-earth, articulate — and good! She clearly loves the horses and is able to use her abilities to ease their transition from wild to domestic. She has an "understanding" of the wild horse that few others possess. Lesley's quiet leadership style and effective demonstrations inspire people to communicate more effectively with their own horses. She has been involved in horses her entire life and mustangs for more than 20 years. Her background with horses covers western, English, jumping, endurance riding and back country packing. | ||

| Matt Sheridan Matt's website | Matt Sheridan is a fifth generation horseman who for over 25 years has successfully trained and shown horses in a variety of breeds and events. Matt is keenly interested in advancing others’ knowledge of horses and horsemanship through his clinics and lessons. His focus is teaching others to have responsive horses that move well beyond the basics of the present horsemanship movement. Matt uses his horses to help others see what they can achieve through practical applications to riding.Having a diverse background growing up riding, cutting, team penning and roping horses as a youth to training ranch and wild horses in Nevada as an adult, Matt has developed his own unique approach to horses and people. He believes that riding should not be a complex set of rules but a pattern of good guidelines. In other words, the emphasis is on being consistent with ones horse in order to educate the animal. This concept also holds true with people. After working with some of the industries top trainers and years of experience, Matt has come up with a variety of training clinics geared towards many different riding styles and ability levels. He likes to think of his brand of horsemanship as “Practical Horsemanship”, that which can be put into practice on a daily basis. It does not matter if you are a weekend rider or working for a big ranch. The principles are the same. Matt will conduct three clinics: Friday: First Saddling, Safe Saddling - In this demonstration Matt show the audience how he prepares a horse to be saddled. He will go through the step of getting the saddle on the horse, getting the horse more comfortable with the saddle and ultimately working on mounting and dismounting for the first ride. Saturday: The First Few Rides - Matt will demonstrate how he rides horses for the first few days under saddle. He will cover proper hand, leg and seat position as it relates to helping a horse get a start on the right hoof. In this clinic Matt will ride in a halter and lead rope showing how to get a horse to move and control the four corners of its body. Sunday: Transition to The Snaffle Bit - In this seminar, Matt will review his progression from the ground to the saddle as he takes the horse and rides it in the snaffle bit. An easier approach to first bitting, proper bit adjustment and use of hands and legs will be covered as Matt uses and rides the horse. | ||
