Dear Exhibitor:

Welcome to the 2006 Western States Wild Horse and Burro Expo! You are about to embark on the largest and most exciting event to showcase Wild Horses and Burros in the United States.

It takes our non-profit group of 100% volunteers all year to fund and host this Expo.  We go all out to promote and advertise this Expo and the adoption program.

We still need volunteer help during the year and at the Expo itself.  We also need help in getting sponsorships, advertising and items donated for the Silent Auction.  Nothing is too small to put in the auction.  For as little as $25.00 a person/business can run an ad in the program or be a ribbon sponsor for a class.

After the tremendous growth last year, we are making many changes for 2006. We want you to have a great and safe experience showing off your beautiful Mustangs and Burros at work and play.  We have rented the rodeo arena, in addition to the main arena, pavilion, and cutting arena's.  The Pavilion will be devoted solely to clinics, with a few larger clinics (drill team and cow clinics) using the Rodeo Arena.

There are many new committees this year and specifically a horse show committee that will be your main contact. Susie Askew and Christine Brehm are the horse show/office/rule book people you should contact if you have any questions about entering, classes, rules, etc.  They can be reached at one email address,  wswhbe2006@yahoo.com  There will be an updated version of the rulebook shortly, you should review and become familiar with it to avoid any misunderstandings.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK.

Another VERY important item:

It is very hard to host an organized event with "unknown" entries that just appear at the event.  We have cut-off dates with incentive pre-entry rates, which will enable us to put on an organized event that is fun for our participants and our organizers.

Late entries makes it very hard for our show staff to manage the event efficiently, and, is unfair to all the exhibitors as it increases class size, devotes more time to classes than initially planned for, and the end result is classes running longer, others being delayed, and even forces us to push some classes into another day.

We ask that you send in your entries as early as possible so we can plan the class sizes and move locations to facilitate large classes if necessary.  We realize that many times you do not want to send in a large entry check ahead of time to keep the funds in your account.

To help both you and us, instead of paying for all your classes early, we are asking that you send in your entry with only a $100.00 deposit (not the full amount) before August 1,and you will be locked into the lower class rate for all the classes you have listed.  Please list all your classes on the initial entry so we may better plan for this event. Classes added after August 1, 2006 will be subject to current class rates.

ENTER BY AUGUST 1 AND SAVE MONEY!
ENTRY FEES INCREASE AFTER AUGUST 1.

Entry Fees are $10 per class, or $8 for Youth, until August 1.  August 1-17, Entry Fees are $15 per class ($12 for Youth). If you sign up for classes 4 to 23 hours prior to the class, ENTRY FEES WILL BE $20.00 PER CLASS – SIGNING UP EARLY SAVES YOU MONEY and allows us to organize an event that is fun for everyone!  You may NOT participate in classes with less than 4 hours notice.  There will be no exceptions.  IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, PLEASE ASK, THIS IS IMPORTANT!

Even if you're not normally a "Show Person" - Come to Expo:

    • Show the World what formerly wild mustangs and burros can do
    • Show the public that wild horses and burros are worth caring about, worth saving, & worth adopting
    • Encourage people to Adopt - If you can do it, they can, too!
    • HAVE FUN! MAKE NEW FRIENDS! Mustang and burro people are great folks.
    • We also have some super fun classes in our show, for those who want to "lighten up"

STALLS:
All Entrants are required to rent a stall, even if they are showing one day only. This is for humane reasons, the pavement in the parking lot is too hot to leave a horse or burro tied to a trailer for any length of time.  See Entry Form for fees.

YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE YOUR HORSES TIED OR STALLED IN YOUR TRAILERS.
